BANGOR — A northern Maine man who posted pictures online of the sexual abuse of an infant has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.
WABI-TV reports that Benjamin Rossignol, of Stockholm, was also sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court to 20 years of probation upon release.
The 22-year-old Rossignol pleaded guilty in May to federal charges of transportation and possession of child pornography.
Prosecutors say Rossignol took photos of himself sexually abusing a 1-month-old girl and posted them online.
He apologized in court. He has been held on $10,000 bail since his arrest last November.
Rossignol still faces state charges related to the case.
