AUBURN — Lindsey Perkins scored on a direct kick from about 20 yards out with 17 minutes, 18 seconds left in regulation to lead the No. 5 Maranacook girls soccer team past No. 4 St. Dominic 1-0 in a Western C quarterfinal game Wednesday afternoon.

The Black Bears (12-3-1) will next play rival Hall-Dale (11-5-0) in a regional semifinal game Friday afternoon.

The teams didn’t meet in the regular season.

The Saints finished 12-4-0.

EASTERN B

NO. 3 HERMON 6, NO. 6 ERSKINE 0: The sixth-seeded Erskine girls soccer team’s season came to a close in a regional quarterfinal game.

The Hawks — who led 3-0 at half — got three goals from Claire Peterson, two from Brianna Saulter and one from Alex Allain. Hailey Perry made six saves for Hermon (14-1-0).

Cass Ray made seven saves in net for Erskine (8-4-4), while Avery Bond made one.

EASTERN A

NO. 1 BANGOR 5, NO. 9 MT. BLUE 1: Top-seeded Bangor (13-0-2) used an early second half flurry to break open a two-goal game in a victory over No. 9 Mt. Blue (5-9-2).

“We played really well in the first half,” Cougar coach Fred Conologue, whose team trailed 2-0 at half, said. “The two goals were basically long balls that got behind the defense.

“(Then) they got two early ones in the second half and after that it was pretty much even play. They played hard. I was pretty pleased with my team.”

Allison Boulier and Eve George paced the Rams with two goals each.

Caitlin Kane had the lone Mt. Blue goals, while Addie Schanz made 18 saves in net.

WESTERN D

NO. 5 RANGELEY 2, NO. 4 BUCKFIELD 0: The fifth-seeded Lakers advanced to the Western D semifinals with their win over the Bucks.

Michaela Shorey and Valeria Roy-Lessard each scored goals for Rangeley — who will play at No. 1 Richmond today in the semifinals — while Blayke Morin notched an assist.
