In a recent political advertisement, Sheriff Barry Delong said he interviewed people he felt he would like to leave the job of sheriff to upon his retirement.
He told Dale Lancaster it would be better to become the next sheriff than a police chief. Wait. This is a job to be elected, not inherited nor promised. We have a democracy where people vote; not a Republican monarchy.
Kris McKenna is an experienced police officer who attended the FBI Executive Leadership course. He believes the Second Amendment protects people’s right to own a gun; superseding any new law.
A sheriff and chief deputy do not need a vehicle for use during off-time hours. During work, they can use one of the many department vehicles. Call-sharing with the State Police will work. If not, why was a state police leader seen having lunch with McKenna? Vote for sheriff. I recommend McKenna.
