I recently cast my absentee vote for the upcoming election, and one of the names I checked enthusiastically was Dave Bustin for state Senate.

I’ve known Dave, a Democrat from Hallowell, for more than three decades, worked with him in state government and served with him last year on Hallowell City Council. Dave is a thoughtful problem-solver and a leader who succeeds through effective consensus building.

As a former legislator, city councilor and mayor, Dave knows how to make government work for the people he represents. He will work to secure promised state funding for our kids’ education, to ensure access for all Mainers to quality, affordable health care, and to protect Maine’s environment.

On Nov. 4, I encourage voters instate Senate District 14 (Chelsea, Farmingdale, Hallowell, Gardiner, Manchester, Monmouth, Pittston, Randolph, Readfield, West Gardiner and Winthrop) to elect Dave Bustin. Dave will be our strong voice in the State House.
