As a Winslow resident, educator and parent of a child with a life-threatening heart condition, I support Sen. Colleen Lachowicz, D-Waterville, for re-election to the state Senate.

Colleen has always demonstrated her support to our students and educators by coming into classrooms and attending student events like the Global Day of Play, organized by Winslow Junior High’s Jobs For Maine’s Graduates students. Here, she worked alongside students making them feel special that their state senator took the time to attend their event.

I am thrilled that Colleen was instrumental in passing the bill to have newborn babies screened for heart defects at birth. I know firsthand what early intervention can do to save your child’s life.

Having a state senator who is visible, approachable and willing to listen is invaluable. I sincerely feel like Colleen wants to hear from you and help find solutions.
