For the most part, I am looking forward to the end of the road construction project on Western Avenue in Augusta. Yet, there is one thing, or rather, one person, I will miss.
There is a traffic flagger who greets me with a wave and a smile every morning and every evening as I drive to and from work. He does this daily without fail. No matter what the weather, he has a smile and a wave. I have come to look forward to seeing him every day, and he will be missed.
I imagine that I am not the only person whose life is made better by this man’s actions. It just goes to show how important, and how much impact, a simple act of kindness can have.
