A Fairfield man was arrested Saturday in Kennebunkport and charged with stabbing his brother.

Justin P. Martin, 25, of 76 Martin Stream Road was charged with aggravated assault domestic violence after Kennebunkport police responded to a report of a stabbing around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Police found Martin’s brother covered in blood in a driveway on Log Cabin Road.

The victim, who was not identified by police, was taken to Southern Maine Heath Care in Biddeford for treatment of several stab wounds to the head and neck area. Police say his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“Officers described the scene as chaotic upon arrival,” said Police Chief Craig Sanford. “The victim is lucky to be alive.”

Police said several children were in the home at 53 Log Cabin Road at the time of the attack. Martin was arrested without incident and taken to the hospital for clearance. He is now being held without bail in the York County Jail.

Police later searched the home so officers could look for additional information.
