UNITY — Veggies For All food bank farm will host a benefit concert, SquashHunger, at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the Unity College Center For The Performing Arts, 42 Depot St.
Featured performers will be Edith & Bennett and Mister Moon. Veggies For All staff will unveil the final harvest yields for 2014.
Edith & Bennett (Edith Gawler and Bennett Konesni) are musicians and worksong scholars who together play old-time fiddle, banjo, Swedish dance tunes and farmer’s ballads and hollers, according to a news release.
Mister Moon consists of sisters Hallee and Kati Pottle of Palermo, who will perform harmonies and eclectic acoustic arrangements.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $10 at the door and are available at www.mainefarmlandtrust.org. All proceeds will benefit the food bank farm. The event is sponsored by Unity College.
Veggies For All is a project of Maine Farmland Trust that works to relieve hunger by growing vegetables for those in need.
