WATERVILLE — The Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers is accepting donations for its Christmas Program, which distributes boxes of gifts and clothing to financially disadvantaged children in Maine, according to a news release from the Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers.

Donations of clothing in complete outfits, sizes 2-16, and Thinsulate gloves, are requested.

The organization also welcomes donations of toys such as books for infants through 12-year-old children; coloring books depicting popular characters and Crayola crayons; Legos for children age 8-12; toys related to Monster High, Frozen and Ninja Turtles and princesses; Barbie play sets, vehicles and houses and Barbie and Ken dolls; Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Doc McStuffins and wrestling toys; remote-controlled vehicles; developmental, lighted and musical toys for infants and toddlers; and crafts for boys and girls. All items must be new and in their original packaging.

Applications for the Christmas Program will be accepted by phone from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. The deadline to apply is Friday, Dec. 5, or when maximum capacity is reached.

Donations can be dropped off in the development office at The Maine Children’s Home, 93 Silver St., Waterville. Financial donations are also accepted.
