WATERVILLE — Mia Diplock scored a team-high 16 points and added three steals to lead the Colby women’s basketball team past MIT 59-47 on Saturday in the first day of the Colby Classic.

Brooke Chandor tallied 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Caitlyn Nolan added nine points for the Mules (3-0). Sabrina Drammis poured in a game-high 19 points to lead MIT (1-2).

LASELL 53, THOMAS 36: Justine Ryan scored 14 points in just 18 minutes as Lasell pulled away early from Thomas at the Salem State University Tip-off Tournament.

Jordan Agger-Barnes and Olivia Brown scored 10 points apiece to lead the Terriers (0-3). Sherilyn Small added 12 points for Lasell (2-2).

MEN’S HOCKEY

BOSTON COLLEGE 4, MAINE 1: Destry Straight scored two goals and an assist to lead Boston College to the win over Maine in Boston. Teddy Doherty and Alex Tuch also found the back of the net for the Eagles (7-5, 3-3 Hockey East). Thatcher Demko made 22 saves in net for BC. Blaine Byron scored the lone goal for Maine (3-9-1, 2-5), assisted by Cam Brown. Sean Romeo stopped 23 shots in net.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

BOWDOIN 1, COLBY 0: Angelica Crites made 38 saves in net for Colby but it wasn’t enough in a tough loss to Bowdoin.

Maryanne Iodice’s first career goal with 9:13 left in the third period was all the Polar Bears (2-0) needed.

Lan Crofton stopped 30 shots in net for Bowdoin to shut out the Mules (0-2).

MAINE 3, PROVIDENCE 2: Jennifer More scored twice and Maine took advantage of the power play to edge Providence at Alfond Arena.

The Black Bears were 2-for-6 with the extra man while Providence failed to score on both of its power play opportunities. Hailey Browne scored Maine’s other goal on the power play, while Audra Richards chipped in two assists.

Meghann Tracy made 29 saves for Maine (5-7-2). Beth Hanrahan and Haley Frade scored a goal apiece for the Friars (1-11-3).

MEN’S BASKETBALL

COLBY 80, ENDICOTT 69: Tournament MVP Chris Hudnut scored 17 points and pulled down 18 rebounds to lead Colby to victory in the championship game of the Colby Classic in Waterville.

Luke Westman had a game-high 25 points on 10-for-13 shooting for the Mules (3-1). John Henault led Endicott (2-1) with 24 points.

FRAMINGHAM STATE 65, THOMAS 57: Timothy McCarthy scored 14 points to lead Framingham State over Thomas in the consolation game of the Moe’s Queso Classic, hosted by Regis College in Weston, MA.

Bertholyn Alexandre added 12 points off the bench for Framingham State (3-1). to lead the Terriers (1-4). Eric Westbrooks scored 19 points and Levi Barnes 18 to lead the Terries (1-4).
