Gabriel Ferris, 13, of Winslow, has been named a Scholastic News Kid Reporter. Gabriel was chosen from more than 200 applicants who submitted an original news report about their communities, according to a news release from Nadia Almahdi, Scholastic Inc, publicist.
The Scholastic News Kids Press Corps is a team of young journalists, age 10-14, who report on “news for kids, by kids” with coverage of current events, breaking news, entertainment stories, and sports events from their hometowns and on the national stage. Their stories appear on the Scholastic News Online website and in select issues of Scholastic’s classroom magazines, which are read by more than 25 million students in classrooms nationwide.
