The Augusta Downtown Alliance is hosting a series of holiday events from Friday through Tuesday in the downtown, according to a post on the alliance’s Facebook page.

The 35-foot holiday tree arrives downtown at noon Friday in Waterfront Park and will be put up starting at 1 p.m.

On Saturday, a number of events are planned:

• Noon-6 p.m., Santa’s Castle will be open at the Olde Federal Building

• 1-4:30 p.m., hay wagon rides will leave from Key Plaza

• 1-4 p.m., a live reindeer will be in Market Square

• 1-4:30 p.m., children can write a letter to Santa in Market Square

• 5:15 p.m., tree lighting at Waterfront Park

• 5:20 p.m., fireworks at Waterfront Park

• 6 p.m., Dance Unlimited in Market Square

On Sunday, Santa’s Castle will be open 1-5 p.m.; Christmas at the Fort will go from 1 to 4 p.m. at Old Fort Western and will include hay wagon rides and live reindeer.

And on Monday and Tuesday, Santa’s Castle will be open 5-7 p.m. at the Olde Federal Building.
