AUGUSTA — A brazen or chilly thief filled a pickup bed with 31 bags of wood pellets belonging to Aubuchon Hardware about 10 p.m. Monday.

City police who are investigating the theft posted a grainy surveillance photo of the truck on the Police Department’s Facebook page. It shows the truck as it apparently left the scene on Bangor Street. Police did not have an estimated value of the wood pellets.

Sgt. Christian Behr said the vehicle was an older model, dark pickup with a cap.

“We’re hoping somebody will identify the truck,” Behr said.
