The Kennebec Valley Garden Club decorated the Blaine House for the holidays Tuesday, following this year’s theme of Holiday Tribute to Our Troops.

Club members decorated the house and two of three balsam fir trees donated by Granger Family Farm in China, according to a news release from the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. Two of the trees will be in the public part of the Blaine House and were decorated by members of the garden club.

The third tree will be in the private living quarters of Gov. Paul LePage and his family, and they will decorate the tree.

“Paul and I truly appreciate all that the garden club does each Christmas to create a festive atmosphere at the Blaine House, as well as the generous annual gifts from the Granger Family Farm,” first lady Ann LePage said in a statement. “I couldn’t have been happier when they chose a theme to honor our troops this year.”
