Maine’s season for hunting deer with muzzleloaders is entering its restricted phase.
Saturday is the final day that it’s legal to hunt deer with muzzleloaders in all of the state’s 29 wildlife management districts. There is no deer hunting with muzzleloaders on Sunday. Hunting resumes on Monday and is restricted to 14 of the state’s 29 wildlife management districts. The restriction prohibits hunting in much of northern Maine.
The restricted muzzleloader season ends on Dec. 13. That is also the day Maine’s archery season for deer comes to an end.
