I have a quickie quiz regarding President Barack Obama’s recent suspension through executive order of the deportation of 5 million illegals in this country.

• Who said this in 2011? “With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportations through executive order, that’s just not the case, because there are laws on the books that Congress has passed. … We’ve got three branches of government. Congress passes the law. The executive branch’s job is to enforce and implement those laws.” Answer: Barack Obama

• Who said this in 2013? “I’m not a king. I am the head of the executive branch of the government. I’m required to follow the law.” Answer: Barack Obama.

With a new Senate and House of Representatives coming in January, it is almost guaranteed that this issue of Obama’s executive order will head to the Supreme Court. That should make things interesting.

To those who voted on Nov. 4 — Thank you and hang on.

To those who didn’t (40 percent in Maine and 68 percent nationally) and whose apathy the president was clearly counting on — Go back to sleep.
