The Bagaduce Music Lending Library is accepting original musical compositions by young, Maine composers, according to a news release from the Bagaduce Music Lending Library in Blue Hill. The library will celebrate its 19th annual Young Composers’ Competition which is open to all Maine students in kindergarten through high school. The deadline for submitting compositions is Monday, Feb. 16, 2015.

Compositions will be evaluated by a panel of three expert judges by age of the composer: Category I – Age 13 and younger and Category II – Age 14 through high school. Three students in each age category will be awarded prize money: First place will win $200; second place, $125; and third place, $75. These awards will be given at the Young Composers’ Festival on Saturday, April 25, 2015, in Blue Hill.
