WATERVILLE — Maranacook improved its record to 3-0 thanks to a 42-34 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference girls basketball win over Waterville Friday night.

Christine Miller scored 18 points and Liz DeAngelo finished with 13 to pace Maranacook.

Jordan Jabar led Waterville (0-3) with 13 points and 16 rebounds, while Fotini Shanos chipped in with 11.

RICHMOND 35, GREENVILLE 27: The Bobcats built a 23-5 advantage by halftime and never looked back en route to the East-West win in Richmond.

Sydney Tilton led the way for Richmond (1-1) with 11 points and 18 rebounds, while Autumn Acord finished with six points and 12 rebounds. Meranda Martin chipped in with four assists and had a strong defensive game.

MT. BLUE 44, MESSALONSKEE 30: The Cougars found their scoring touch in the second half to deal the Eagles their first loss Friday night.

Mt. Blue (1-0) — who trailed 13-12 at half — got 14 points from Caitlin Kane and 12 from Eryn Doiron in the win.

Sophie Holmes had a team-high nine points for Messalonskee (2-1), while Ally Turner chipped in with eight.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 31, ERSKINE 9: Hannah Marks scored 12 points to lead the Panthers to the KVAC B win in South China.

Justice Barrows added eight points for Medomak Valley (3-0).

Katie Gamage led Erskine (0-3) with six points while Mallory Chamberlain added three.

LAWRENCE 72, CONY 31: Nia Irving scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to the KVAC A victory in Fairfield. Paige Belanger also had a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Molly Folsom had 11 points for Lawrence (2-0).

Haley Ward scored seven points to pace Cony (0-2).

KENTS HILL 38, HEBRON 35: The Huskies never trailed but had to survive a late rally from the Lumberjacks to hold on for the win in Hebron.

Emma Curnin led the way for Kents Hill (1-0) with 13 points, while Leah Herbin finished with six points and 14 rebounds.

BOYS BASKETBALL

 

MESSALONSKEE 60, MT. BLUE 36: Nick Mayo had 25 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and three steals to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A win in Farmington.

Nate Violette added 10 points while Sawyer Michaud chipped in five assists to go along with two points for Messalonskee (3-0) and Jack Bernatchez had four points and six rebounds.

Mt. Blue (1-1) was led by Colton Lawrence with 13 points and Zach Mittelstadt with six.

RICHMOND 62, GREENVILLE 42: Cameron Emmons and Matt Holt each scored 16 points to lead the Bobcats to the Western D victory in Richmond. Bailey Johansen chipped in with 10 points to pace Richmond (2-0) as well.

Trevor Richards scored a team-high 14 points to pace the Lakers (1-1).

MARANACOOK 71, WATERVILLE 50: Kent Mohlar scored 21 points to lead the Black Bears to a KVAC B win over the Purple Panthers in Readfield.

Cam Brochu scored 14 points for Maranacook (1-2), while Kyle Wilbur added nine points.

Devon Begin led Waterville (0-3) with 16 points.

MONMOUTH 52, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 49: The Mustangs rode a 19-point performance from Hunter Richardson to a three-point Mountain Valley Conference victory over the Falcons.

Kasey Smith joined Richardson in double figures with 12 points in the Monmouth (3-1) win.

WINTHROP 86, OAK HILL 34: Jacob Hickey scored 17 points and was one of four Ramblers in double figures in a rout of the Raiders.

Dakota Carter and Anthony Owens each finished with 11 points for Winthrop (4-0), while Matt Sekerak chipped in with 10. Taylor Morang added eight assists and six steals.

Dalton Therrier buried two 3-pointers en route to 12 points for Oak Hill (1-3).
