Police delivering presents to Fairfield children Tuesday

FAIRFIELD — Fairfield police want to remind parents that they plan to deliver presents to Fairfield children Tuesday night starting at 5 p.m. Police say this year they will be delivering three presents and a teddy bear to each of 222 children in 101 households. “Not an easy task, and we would have a very hard time completing it without the assistance of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office who will be available to handle calls for us during the evening,” Police Chief Thomas Gould said.

IN ANSON, Sunday at 7:44 p.m., suspicious activity was reported on River Road.

IN BELGRADE, Sunday at 12:25 a.m., a complaint was taken from Lynch Cove Road.

IN BINGHAM, Sunday at 8:03 a.m., police were called to assist another agency on James Street.

3:34 p.m., a report of suspicious activity was investigated on Milford Avenue.

IN DETROIT, Sunday at 5:17 p.m., police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on River Road.

In OAKLAND, Friday at 9:06 a.m., a resident saw a black SUV turn around in her driveway and wanted to report it because of “all the home invasions.”

10:23 a.m., a resident reported that a man she met online visited her home and that while she was in the bathroom, he left and that her Ambien, Valium, Prozac and birth control were missing.

11:06 a.m., a resident reported that his identity had been stolen.

10:57 p.m., an employee of the American Legion reported receiving 20 calls from a woman looking for her boyfriend; he was not among those present and the caller was advised to desist.

IN PALMYRA, Monday at 8:33 a.m., an assault was reported on Main Street.

IN PITTSFIELD, Monday at 8:47 a.m., a report of a disturbance was investigated on Somerset Avenue.

SUMMONS

In WINSLOW, Saturday at 10:51 a.m., Eric Dostie, of Clinton, was summonsed on a charge of operating after suspension and possession of suspended or fictitious license.

9:29 p.m., Eugene Osmond was summonsed on a charge of possession of marijuana.

ARRESTS

In OAKLAND, Saturday at 10:08 p.m., Nick E. Harvey, 42, of Oakland, was arrested on High Street and charged with domestic violence and refusing to submit to arrest.

IN FRANKLIN COUNTY, Sunday, Dana Demchuk, 18, of Madison, was arrested on the charge of operating without a license.

James Irish, 53, of Carthage, was arrested on the charge of domestic violence assault.

IN SOMERSET COUNTY, Sunday at 1:33 a.m., William Glenn Carpenter, 33, of Skowhegan, was arrested on a warrant.

5:33 p.m., Gary Bruce Hinkel, 63, of Jay, was arrested on charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, operating under the influence with no test, endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated assault and failure to register a vehicle.

In WINSLOW, Friday at 4:51 p.m., Casey Lee Bronn, 33, of Vassalboro, was arrested and charged with operating after suspension and on a warrant.

Saturday, 9:34 p.m., Matthew McCann, 40, of Benton, was arrested on Benton Avenue and charged with operating under the influence.

9:29 p.m. Jeanne Osmond, 59, was arrested on Clinton Avenue and charged with domestic violence assault.
