Capital Area Technical Center has announced its December Students of the Month, according to a news release from the center.

Ethan Harriman is a senior from Maranacook High School enrolled in the Business Academy. He enjoys attending the class because he is learning things he feels will benefit him in the future. He will leave the Business Academy this spring with 33 college credits, which is the equivalent of one entire year of college credits. He also is pursuing Internal Revenue Service certification and will participate in Capital Area Technical Center’s annual Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, which will begin in January. His instructor, Ryan Wheaton says “Ethan is smart and hard working. He has what it takes to have a successful career in business.” Ethan is a member of Maranacook’s cross country and Nordic skiing teams. In the fall, he plans to attend college and major in accounting.

Robert Michaud is a senior from Hall-Dale High School enrolled in the Automotive Technology program for the second year. He has enjoyed being able to advance his skills in the program. His instructor Keith Hart says “Robert’s performance in class has been phenomenal. I am able to give him advanced level tasks. Today he is working on changing a clutch.” Robert scored in the top 10 out of 50 automotive technology students in the SKillsUSA preliminary event. This earned him a spot to compete in CATC’s local SkillsUSA competition to be held Jan. 21. Upon graduation, Robert plans to gain employment and have a career in the automotive industry.
