Saturday a 22-year-old Farmingdale woman was charged with operating with an expired license more than a year and operating a vehicle with a fictitious inspection sticker during a traffic stop for a vehicle defect on Route 9. Police report the vehicle quickly turned in to a closed business and the occupants exited before the driver could be identified. The Farmingdale woman claimed to be the driver. The other people in the vehicle had suspended licenses, according to police.

A 24-year-old Augusta woman was charged with operating after suspension during a traffic stop for speeding on Route 9.

A 23-year-old Vassalboro man was charged with operating with an expired drivers license during a traffic stop for speeding on Route 9.

CHINA

Dec. 23 there was a report of a hit-and-run crash at the entrance of the China Dine-Ah off U.S. Route 202. Dylan Quimby, 22, of Woolwich, told police his vehicle was struck by a truck pulling out of the diner. The truck left. Police located the truck and identified the driver as 63-year-old-Gary French, who reportedly admitted to driving but said he thought he hit the guardrail. French was charged with failure to report a property damage crash by quickest means.

Sunday Kristy Haskell, 36, was charged with operating under the influence and operator consuming alcohol on a public way and operating with a passenger consuming alcohol on a public way during a traffic stop on Route 3.

Thursday at 8:15 p.m., an 18-year-old Massachusetts man was charged with marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding during a traffic stop on Interstate 295. Police reportedly clocked the vehicle at 90 miles per hour.

ARRESTS

AUGUSTA

Dec. 24 Kathy Tupper, 50, was arrested on a probation hold after allegedly failing a drug test. Tupper was a passenger in a car stopped for speeding on Route 3.

CHELSEA

Friday Dwight Sanborn, 30, of Winslow, was arrested on a warrant and new charges of eluding police, driving to endanger, failure to submit to arrest, heroin possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating after suspension and leaving the scene of an accident. Police stopped Sanborn’s car on Davenport Road, where police discovered there was a warrant for his arrest. A police report indicates Sanborn sped away at a high speed when ordered out of the car. Police pursued and Sanborn eventually crashed his vehicle. He fled on foot and was found behind June’s restaurant in Chelsea. The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the pursuit.

HALLOWELL

Sunday at 10:38 p.m., Fred Fostell Taylor, 45, of Sidney, was arrested on a charge of violating conditions of release by police responding to a report of disorderly conduct on Water Street.

LITCHFIELD

Saturday at 5:44 p.m., Joshua Lee Tilley, 31, of Litchfield, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence stalking on Dead River Road.

MANCHESTER

Saturday at 9:16 a.m., Ryan Mitchell Welch, 43, of Manchester was arrested on charges of violating conditions of release and violating a protective order on Readfield Road.

RANDOLPH

Friday Regina Stewart, 28, of Washington was arrested on a warrant by police responding to a report that Stewart was intoxicated while alone with her 6-year-old child at their Elm Street home. Police said Stewart was found underneath a bed. A family member cared for the child.

WINDSOR

Dec. 22 Gregory Doughty, 34, of Windsor, was arrested on warrants at his home.
