I wish to apologize for the error in my letter, “US joining rest of world in dealing with Cuba,” published Dec. 26. The Cuban dictator Flugencio Batista, not Trujillo, fled to the tender care of fellow dictator Trujillo in the Dominican Republic. Many of Batista’s henchmen fled to the US where in the anticommie hysteria of the times they were welcomed as innocent saints. (No immigration problems for them!) Richard Nixon recruited those saints as his Watergate burglars.
