AUGUSTA — Down 12 points with five minutes left, the Cony boys basketball team rallied for a 55-52 win over Brunswick in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference showdown on Tuesday night.

T.J. Cusick made all three of his 3-point attempts in the fourth quarter to lead the comeback and finish with 19 points. The Rams (7-3) also took advantage of a 20-shot difference at the free throw line, shooting 23-for-34 from the charity stripe and forcing 24 turnovers to overcome the shooting woes that plagued them through the first three quarters.

“We didn’t shoot the ball the whole game, then in the fourth quarter, really with five minutes to go, we got hot,” Cony coach T.J. Maines said.

Liam Stokes added 18 points for the Rams. Alex Bandouveres led the Dragons (4-5) with 20 points, while Taran Payne chipped in 11.
