The Gorham School Committee has named a sole finalist for superintendent of the district.

Heather Perry, superintendent of Unity-based Regional School Unit 3, would replace Ted Sharp, who is retiring at the end of the school year after 12 years as superintendent of Gorham schools.

Perry’s selection is still subject to reference checks, site visits and a public forum to be held Jan. 21 at 6 p.m. in the Gorham Middle School auditorium, according to a news release Tuesday from the school district.

Gorham’s school district comprises five schools and about 2,650 students.

RSU 3 has eight schools and serves 1,421 students from 11 Waldo County towns.
