It’s sad to read about the closure of St. Mark’s Home — a beautiful building with such history.

It’s sad when a church membership fades, and worship buildings can’t be maintained. Once the church doors close, outreach to the community in so many unseen ways will end. But that’s another letter.

Lithgow Library needs to expand. What a lovely addition the Episcopal Church’s building would make, at a fraction of the cost of new construction.

With a covered walkway of some type across Pleasant Street, either another librarian’s office there, or a camera and direct phone installed, it could be easily annexed.

We know that the library is capable of moving to the old hospital.

Certainly it is capable of expanding into this stately, comfortable, available building, located right next door.
