NEW SHARON — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will conduct its second Citizens Police Academy classes starting Feb. 10 and will run through March 31, according to a news release from Sheriff Scott R. Nichols. Classes are set for 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays at New Sharon Town office and are free and open to anyone living in Franklin County

Last year classes were held in Stratton. This year organizers hope to draw residents from Chesterville, Industry, New Sharon and the surrounding towns who are interested in learning how the sheriff’s office conducts law enforcement operations in a rural environment.

The six-week course will cover typical topics such as patrol operations, use of K-9’s, drug investigation, and administrative functions.
