MADISON — Kayla Bess and Madeline Wood each scored 15 points, but it wasn’t enough for the Madison girls basketball team in a 55-47 Mountain Valley Conference loss to Dirigo on Monday.

Emily Oliver added eight points for the Bulldogs (5-7).

Lauren Henderson scored 18 points for the Cougars (9-1).

FOREST HILLS 63, TEMPLE 38: The Tigers outscored Temple 23-6 in the third quarter to pull away for a lopsided win in Waterville.

Linda Riley led Forest Hills (9-1) with 22 points, while Caitlin Logston chipped in with 13.

Kiara Carr had a game-high 23 points for Temple (3-7).

CARRABEC 38, MT. ABRAM 31: Emma Pluntke scored nine points to lead the Cobras to an MVC win over the Roadrunners in Salem.

Bailey Dunphy scored eight points, while Jerzee Rugh added seven points for Carrabec (6-5).

Megan Sorel scored 11 points for Mt. Abram (1-10).

BOYS BASKETBALL

FOREST HILLS 63, TEMPLE 39: The Tigers raced out to a 48-13 lead by halftime and never looked back in a victory over Temple in Waterville.

Matt Turner paced Forest Hills (9-0) with a game-high 20 points, while Brandon Ouellette finished with 17 points.

Bradley Smith led Temple (3-7) with eight points.
