Winslow High School was briefly evacuated Monday afternoon as police investigated what ended up being an empty bomb threat.

According to a press release from the Winslow Police Department, at 11:46 a.m. a student told school officials in the main office that there was a bomb threat written on a wall in the boys’ restroom.

Students were evacuated and moved to Winslow Junior High School while police and Maine State Police dogs trained to detect explosives searched the area.

The building was declared safe and students returned to the school at 1:45 p.m.

Lt. Josh Veilleux said in the release that there have been no arrests made and they are investigating the threat.
