SKOWHEGAN — Because of the recent resignation of Mary Turbyne from the School Administrative District 54 board of directors, there is a vacancy for a Skowhegan representative.

An appointment to replace Turbyne may be made by the Board of Selectmen at their meeting Jan. 27. The remainder of the term will expire in June 2015. This director’s position is typically an elective position. The person who is appointed will have to take out nomination papers in March for the June election in order to serve another term for three years. Any person interested in serving should submit a letter of interest to the town manager’s office at 225 Water St. before Jan. 22.

Letters also can be emailed to the executive secretary at cmason@skowhegan.org.
