An Augusta man was arrested Friday afternoon on a charge of possessing child pornography, Maine State Police said.
Randy Marquis, 41, was arrested at his home at 183 Northern Ave. and taken to the Kennebec County jail, according to a news release from Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety.
Acting on a tip, authorities searched Marquis’ computer and found hundreds of images of child pornography, McCausland said. Marquis was charged by the computer crimes unit of the state police on one count of possessing sexually explicit material of someone under the age of 12.
