Two 15-year-old boys from St. Albans have been charged with six burglaries and thefts, including the theft of guns, in Hartland, St. Albans and Palmyra.
The burglaries occurred between late October and early December, according to a release from James Ross, chief deputy with the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department.
The burglary victims included two local businesses — the Palmyra Trading Post and the Auto Barn in Detroit. Eight firearms were stolen in three of the burglaries, seven of which were recovered by Staff Sgt. Michael Knight.
Also stolen was cash, change and a golf cart, which has also been recovered, Ross said.
During the crime spree the boys allegedly stole two motor vehicles, both of which were recovered. Both have been charged as juveniles and will appear in a juvenile session of Somerset Unified Court.
Knight said the sheriff’s department broke the case after getting a tip.
