Waterville Junior High School’s annual Geography Bee was held Jan. 7 and 8. Twenty-four students participated, they were the top scorers from their social studies classes. The preliminary competition was held on the first day, according to a news release from the school.

Advancing to the final round on the second day were Nick Burgess, Declan Greene, Carter Jones, Adam Livshits, Gage Mower, Ella Ruehsen, Katherine Taddeo and Inga Zimba.

And the winners were: runner-up Ella Ruehsen and school champion Katherine Taddeo.

Ella is the daughter of Katherine and Jack Ruehsen.

Katherine is the daughter of Sara and Joseph Taddeo.

Katherine has taken a written test and hopes to qualify for the State Geography Bee planned for April.
