FARMINGTON — Investigators may have solved a sexual assault case that is alleged to have occurred five years ago, Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols said in a news release Tuesday.
Lt. David St. Laurent and Detective Ken Charles, of the sheriff’s office, on Monday arrested Shawn Flagg, 39, of Stetson, on a charge of gross sexual assault against a minor, a class A felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison. Flagg is originally from Farmington, Nichols said.
Flagg was found and interviewed at the Penobscot County Jail, where he is facing other charges not connected to the sexual assault charge. Since Flagg is incarcerated, his bail was set at $10,000 cash in Franklin County, Nichols said. He eventually will be taken to the Franklin County jail in Farmington and will make his initial appearance in court in the coming days, police said.
