WATERVILLE — Slippery driving conditions led to an accident Tuesday night on Main Street that sent one person to the hospital and closed one lane of traffic during the rush hour commute, police said.
The accident near Flo’s Flower Cart on Main Street was reported around 5:15 p.m. and temporarily closed one lane of traffic, said Waterville police Officer Kris McKenna. The street reopened fully around 6 p.m.
One of the drivers in the accident had a hard time braking because of snow on the road and rear-ended another vehicle, McKenna said. The driver of the vehicle that was hit was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, he said. No significant damage to either vehicle was reported.
