Waterville’s first “First-Friday” Art Walk is today. There will be three art events: a reception at the Waterville Public Library’s Carnegie Gallery (postponed from last week because of the storm) with Abbott Meader’s “Inventions on a Child’s Drawing” from 5 to 7 p.m.; a reception at Common Street Arts for an exhibit called “Somewhere, Visions from Chinese and Taiwanese Artists in Maine,” also from 5 to 7 p.m.; followed by a reception at the Framemaker’s for Laurie Sproul’s woodcarvings, and selections from Jean Ann Pollard’s Gaia and Reef Series of acrylic paintings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The jazz trio, featuring vocalist Lynne Conner, will perform at 18 Below, 18 Silver St., from 8 to 10 p.m.
