AUGUSTA — Capital Area Technical Center recently announced January students of the month, according to a CATC news release.

Aiden Watson is a junior from Hall-Dale High School enrolled in the Computer Technology program. Through the program, Watson has earned his Occupational Safety & Health Administration 10-hour safety awareness card. He has also learned about the various computer parts, which has taught him how to take apart, as well as build a computer. He plans to return to CATC next year.

Josh Murphy is a senior from Maranacook High School enrolled in the Machine Tool Technology and Welding Fabrication program. He recently won the gold medal in welding at the local SkillsUSA local competition. He will advance to the State SkillsUSA competition and compete with students from around the state on March 6 in Bangor. Upon graduation, Murphy plans to continue his education and pursue a career in welding.
