Absentee ballots are now available for the March 13 municipal election in the Town of Rome. The polls will be open 1-8 p.m. at the Rome Community Center, 8 Mercer Road.

Absentee ballots can be requested in person at the Rome Town Office during regularly scheduled clerk hours, according to a press release from Richard LaBelle, the excise tax collector.

Absentee ballots also can be requested by phone at 397-4011. Residents are asked to leave their legal name, date of birth, address of residence, mailing address for the ballot and a contact phone number.

Those ballots must be returned to the Office of the Town Clerk no later than 8 p.m. election day.

Questions or concerns regarding the municipal election can be directed to Deputy Town Clerk Kimberly Brooks at the same phone number.

The ballot includes individuals running for eight town offices. They are all one-year terms except for the three-year term representing the town on the board of Regional School Union 18. Andrew G. Cook is running for that post. This would be his first elected position.
