FAIRFIELD — Matt Brown recently won the Lawrence Junior High School’s annual spelling bee, Ethan Caldwell was runner up. Each language arts class in the school sent a winner to compete in the bee, language arts teacher Caleb Morin was the facilitator, according to a news release from the school.
Brown and Caldwell also competed in the Somerset County Spelling Bee on Feb 11. Brown placed second, and is the alternate for the state spelling bee set for March 21.
