I have read many times about people who have been helped by complete strangers and thought about how wonderful those strangers were. I often wondered if I would ever need and receive help from a stranger. Well, not one, but two were there when I needed them.

I was home alone and needed to go outside. It had started to snow and was very windy and cold. While I was going out the back door, my foot slipped off the step and I fell. I am a large person and have artificial knees, and I couldn’t get up. I crawled around to the front of the house, which is on Route 201. Many cars went by as it is a very busy road.

I sat there on the cold ground and said a little prayer for help. After a little while, a little blue car turned into the drive and stopped. A man rolled down the window and asked if I needed help up. Of course, I said yes, thank you. Two men got out of the car and had me on my feet in seconds. They made sure I was OK and left. I later found out that the car had gone by traveling south and the driver saw me. He went and got his friend and they came back to help me.

Thank you doesn’t seem enough to say for these men but I consider them to be my special angels. I am now one of the lucky people helped by complete strangers.
