Wilton Fish & Game Association’s annual $100 ice-out concest/fundraiser is under way. For $5, participants can guess when the last iceberg will leave Wilton’s Wilson Lake. Many individuals over the years have developed their own theory to win. Bruce Dyke jokes that the ice goes out near his birthday, someone already has an idea that the date may be July 1, and another individual likes to put a date nearest to the full moon, according to a news release from the Association.
Those interested can purchase a ticket from Dyke, Ray Ray’s Café in Wilton, Rick’s Market in Dryden or mail their name, contact number and money with the month, day, hour and minute the ice will go out to Bruce Dyke, P.O. BOX 605, Wilton, ME 04294.
