A Palermo woman was arrested Tuesday night after police said she assaulted a family member who asked her to turn down music.

June Nerber, 66, of Palermo, was arrested and charged with domestic violence assault and domestic criminal mischief, both misdemeanors, said Lt. Jason Trundy of the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.

In a news release, Trundy said two sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic disturbance report on Arnold Lane at 9:45 p.m. Once there, they learned that Nerber had broken dishes and pushed and hit a family member after a dispute over loud music that Nerber was playing.

Nerber was taken to the Waldo County jail in Belfast and will be released on $500 unsecured bail, Trundy said.

Nerber was also charged with domestic violence assault in 2012, but those charges were dismissed in Belfast District Court, according to published reports.
