A Cornville man was arrested by Maine State Police on multiple drug charges Monday in southern Maine.

Gregory Strout, 28, was stopped for speeding while traveling south on Interstate 295 in Falmouth, according to a Maine State Police news release. Trooper Doug Cropper, of Troop A barracks in Alfred in York County, found five plastic bags containing what he suspected was heroin, a small amount of marijuana, a suboxone strip, 82 hypodermic needles, a methadone pill and assorted drug paraphernalia in Strout’s vehicle, police said. The vehicle had been moving at 89 mph in a 70-mph zone, police said.

Strout was taken to the Cumberland County Jail in Portland, according to police. An intake officer at the jail said Tuesday that Strout posted $300 cash bail at 6:30 p.m. Monday. He has a court date in Portland on May 6.
