I am writing to show support for LINC Wellness Center, a peer-run wellness center for any individual who has experienced any type of mental health challenge, including depression and anxiety.

The center, where I work part time, has been flat funded for 20 years and does more than ever. What other organization does that?

There are now two bills in Legislature that would help give centers like ours an increase.

We’re a lot less expensive than mental health centers, but some studies show we are just as effective as some of their services. We don’t rely on MaineCare, and we don’t turn away anyone. We just need enough money to keep providing great opportunities for people to recover from their mental illness.
