KINGFIELD — High Peaks Artisans’ Guild, 245 Main St., will celebrate National Poetry Month with Dixfield poet and Guild member Kelly Sterns. She will read from her series “Somebody Oughta Tell Grandma Her Wig’s On Backwards, But We Don’t” during the Kingfield Friday Artwalk set for 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 3, according to a news release from the guild.
Sterns also is expected to read excerpts from her award-winning series “The Porch Is Astroturfed So Mama Won’t Fall In The Winter.” She is known for the small, quiet moments in her work, as well as the belly laughs, a unique combination of down-home wisdom.
The guild is an artists’ cooperative with more than 15 members exhibiting works including baskets, photographs, paintings, pottery, antiques, jewelry, fiber works, books, blank cards, wood turnings, woodcuts and more.
Free and open to the public during the Artwalk, the gallery will offer light refreshments.
The gallery is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
