Lorna Hatch, center, chief of Voluntary Service, VA Maine Healthcare System in Augusta, recently was given national honors in a ceremony that awarded her the VA Voluntary Service Award for Excellence. The award is based on accomplishments in leadership, volunteer growth, program development, community involvement,and staff development, all for the benefit of the Veterans she serves. At right is Sabrina Clark, director, Voluntary Service Office, VA Central Office, and at left is Bill Kilgore, AMVETS national VAVS representative and chairman, VA Voluntary Service National Advisory Committee. The VAVS Award for Excellence was presented April 23 at the 2015 VAVS National Advisory Committee meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
