OAKLAND — Lydia Dexter scored just 30 seconds into second overtime to lift the Messalonskee girls lacrosse team to a come-from-behind 12-11 victory over previously unbeaten Mt. Ararat.

“It was a huge win for us,” Messalonskee coach Ashley Pullen said. “This probably gives us home field advantage throughout the playoffs.”

Mt. Ararat (7-1) led 11-10 and appeared poised to grab a victory before Lauren Pickett pulled Messalonskee even when she scored with 12 seconds left in regulation.

“We got the ball with 28 seconds left and were able to put one in to go to overtime,” Pullen said.

India languet scored four goals to pace Messalonskee (8-1) while Dexter had two goals and an assist. Nathalie St. Pierre also scored two goals and an assist while Sydni Collier had 12 saves for Messalonskee.

Erin Tome scored three goals and an assist to lead Mt. Ararat (8-1).

BOYS LACROSSE

WINSLOW 12, MT. BLUE 3: Jimmy Fowler tallied three goals and two assists to lead Winslow to a KVAC lacrosse victory in Farmington.

David Selwood also had a hat trick for the Black Raiders (4-3), while Andrew Beals added two goals. Nick Gurney mades six saves in goal. Levi Meader, Joe Bowering and Cordell Ellis scored for the Cougars (1-7), while Alex Gilbert made 15 stops in net.
