Harlow Gallery artist members are invited to submit one piece of art depicting or inspired by birds for the annual Members’ Show and Sale. All media welcome, including painting, drawing, printmaking, fiberarts, photography, sculpture and fine craft; one work of art per member, according to a press release.

The gallery currently receives about 100 works. The gallery has instituted a size limitation as follows (only for two-dimensional work — sculpture needs to fit through the door): No wall-hung work can exceed 18-inch-by-24-inch, including the frame (or a total of 432-square inches for nonstandard support sizes). Large work will be accepted, though if there is a space problem, oversize work will be the first to be cut. In other words, over-sized work is not guaranteed a spot in the show.

For more information, read the members’ show guidelines at harlowgallery.org/current-members-show-guidelines/ before submitting work. The exhibition committee reserves the right to reject work that does not meet the guidelines, according to the release.

IMPORTANT DATES:

• Drop off work (one per artist, any media): Sunday, June 28, noon-4 p.m. or Monday, June 29, 2-6 p.m. Volunteers needed to help both dates; contact Aleana Chaplin.

• Potluck opening: Friday, July 3, 5-8 p.m. Each artist asked to bring a dish or beverage to share. The opening for the Sculpture Garden at Vaughan Homestead will be happening at the same time.

• Exhibition: July 3-25

• Pick up work: Sunday, July 26, noon-4 p.m. or Monday, July 27, 2-6 p.m.

REMINDER:

• Bring in original unframed work for the bins (need not apply to the birds theme).

• During members’ shows, current members can submit up to two pieces of original two-dimensional work (no reproductions including giclee prints). Work should be shrink-wrapped or bagged in mylar bags, and no larger than 18-inch-by-24-inch. Pieces should be labeled on the back with the following information: artist’s name, title, media and price (remember to factor in the Harlow Gallery 35 percent members’ commission). Unsold work must be picked up at the same time as the work in the show.
