WATERVILLE — An exhibition opened Thursday night at Common Street Arts, a culmination of a six-week workshop for high school students led by Tel Aviv artist Shirel Horovitz .

“Art Stories” opened Thursday night and also will be open Friday and Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Horovitz, an artist in residence at Colby College, has worked with local high school students in sculpture, writing, drawing and photography over the past few weeks. Students who have participated in the project include Corey Boynton, Grace Carlson, Isabelle Files and Chloe Geller, according to a news release from Waterville Creates!.

The exhibition will also include works by Horovitz.

Horovitz said the artistic process called for students to take objects and materials that they found around them to explore the “fountain of possibilities” that emerge from their interaction with those materials, according to the release.
