HALL-DALE 5, TRAIP 4: Brian Allen allowed just two hits in five innings as Hall-Dale edged Traip in a Western C prelim.

Allen left the mound with a 5-1 lead after the third inning, then returned for the sixth with just the one-run advantage and shut down the Rangers with five strikeouts and four walks. Bobby Cumler and Quinn Stebbins had two hits apiece for the seventh-seeded Bulldogs (12-5), who will face No. 2 Winthrop in the quarterfinals on Thursday. No. 9 Erskine (10-7) touched Maguire for both of its runs in the third on RBI singles by Ryan Rodrigue and Caleb Cummings. But he shut the Eagles down from there to send Ellsworth (10-7) to a quarterfinal matchup with top-seeded Old Town.
