Authorities are investigating the cause of the death of a woman found in bed at a Durham home.
Police identified the woman as 47-year-old Sandra A. Corrigan of Whitefield.
Rescue crews were called to the home Monday to attend to a 63-year-old man recovering from heart surgery who had been complaining of chest pain.
Androscoggin County Sheriff Eric Samson told the Sun Journal when paramedics arrived they discovered the dead woman and called police.
The woman was a friend who had been visiting the man.
Samson says the death does not appear to be suspicious and there were no obvious signs of how the woman died. State law says all unattended deaths must be investigated.
An autopsy was completed and the results are pending.
